Your goals lead the support
Capacity building should reflect what matters to the participant. Providence works alongside participants to understand their goals, existing strengths and the areas where they would like to build confidence or develop abilities. The approach can be adjusted as goals, circumstances and preferences change.
Capacity Building and Life Skills Development
Life Skills Development focuses more specifically on practising practical everyday skills such as meal preparation, planning, shopping, technology and household routines. Capacity Building Supports can take a broader approach by supporting confidence, participation, decision-making and development toward individual goals. The two supports may complement each other depending on the participant's circumstances and goals.
Different from Support Coordination
Support Coordination focuses on helping participants understand their plan, connect with services and coordinate supports. Capacity Building Supports focus more directly on developing abilities, confidence and participation in everyday life.
