Understanding the NDIS
NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is an Australian scheme designed to provide support to eligible people with permanent and significant disability.
The NDIS is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). The NDIA is responsible for decisions about access to the NDIS and participant plans.

Plans & funding
Understanding your NDIS plan
An NDIS plan sets out a participant's goals and the funded supports included in their plan. Plans are individual and can differ depending on each participant's circumstances.
"Reasonable and necessary" is terminology used by the NDIS when considering funded supports. The NDIA applies current NDIS criteria when making funding decisions. For the official definition and current guidance, refer to the NDIS website.
