Your choices guide the support

Community Access should reflect where the participant wants or needs to go and what matters in their everyday life. Providence works alongside participants to understand their preferences, routines and goals when planning community-based support.

Community Access and Social & Community Participation

Community Access focuses on practical support to get out into the community and access everyday places, services, appointments and activities. Social & Community Participation places more emphasis on social connection, participation in social or recreational activities and building involvement with other people and community groups. These supports may overlap depending on individual goals and circumstances, but they are presented separately so participants can more easily understand the type of support they are looking for.

Different from Transport Assistance

Transport Assistance focuses primarily on getting from one place to another. Community Access focuses more broadly on the support a participant may need while accessing places, appointments, services or activities in the community.
